United States Postal Service Selects Instantis Project & Portfolio Management Software to Manage Enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement Program

Instantis EnterpriseTrack was selected over seven alternatives evaluated by USPS on the basis of superior core PPM functionality, reporting, resource management and strategy alignment capabilities.

September 29, 2010 -- Santa Clara, CA —Instantis, the leading on-demand provider of Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) software used by business process and IT leaders to improve strategy execution and financial performance, announced today that the United States Postal Service has selected the EnterpriseTrack technology to manage its Continuous Improvement (CI) initiative. The goal of the CI initiative, launched in 2008 is to drive business performance and process improvements across the enterprise in terms of sustainable cost reduction, systemic waste elimination and end-to-end process flow.

After a thorough and exhaustive evaluation of competitive alternatives, Instantis EnterpriseTrack was selected on the basis of scoring highest in 8 of the 13 requirement categories evaluated by the USPS and tied for highest in the remaining 5 categories. The 8 categories for which EnterpriseTrack was deemed a superior solution included project tracking and management functionality; resource management; financial tracking and workflow; strategy management; reporting; knowledge sharing; and administration.

According to USPS, “Instantis has been a long-standing leader in providing project and portfolio management solutions for process excellence professionals in private industry and EnterpriseTrack will provide the best system to help USPS achieve its ambitious Continuous Improvement goals.”

In the initial deployment, the system will be rolled out to 1,400 users and the user count is targeted to climb to approximately 2,000 within six months. USPS expects near-term benefits of the deployment to include better alignment of project activity with enterprise strategies; better visibility to project activity and results through web-based access to a centralized system and state-of-the-art dashboard and reporting capabilities; increased project team productivity and cycle-time reductions through standardized and automated project workflow; and better project team communication and collaboration leveraging a shared, searchable knowledge repository to eliminate duplicated effort.

“With over 600,000 employees, the USPS is one of the largest enterprises in the world,” said Prasad Raje, Instantis founder and CEO. The selection of Instantis further validates our ability to handle the most complex enterprise requirements associated with the largest global installations.”
