NETGEAR DEPLOYS CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT SOLUTION USING INSTANTIS SITEWAND

Sunnyvale, CA — February 10, 2002 — Instantis, a provider of software solutions for transforming business processes into custom Web applications and services, today announced the addition of NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of easy-to-use, high performance networking products, as the latest customer to deploy Web applications on the flagship SiteWand platform. Created by the wizards who developed IBM's WebSphere TX Series and HP's eSpeak, Instantis SiteWand is quickly gaining recognition as the primary enterprise choice for custom Web applications and Web services creation and deployment.

NETGEAR was faced with a common enterprise challenge — they had multiple sources of customer data and wanted to drive targeted email marketing campaigns in a coordinated way. Instantis, with its SiteWand platform, was chosen for delivering the desired Customer Communication Management solution.

NETGEAR sought to leverage their disparate customer data effectively, while ensuring that future sources of such data could easily be integrated into the system. This required a platform that could not only deliver superior solutions for existing needs quickly and cost effectively, but could also easily be extended to add more applications in the future, integrated with existing solutions. With the SiteWand-based application from Instantis, whenever NETGEAR customers register their products, sign up online for the NETGEAR mailing list, or interact with NETGEAR's fulfillment houses, the information is captured in a centralized database. The application then allows NETGEAR to devise timely, targeted marketing campaigns to communicate special offers for NETGEAR products to this highly valued customer base.

Doug Hagan, Senior Manager of NETGEAR stated, "Working with Instantis, we have improved the effectiveness of our outreach efforts. NETGEAR chose Instantis because of its ability to deliver a Web application customized to NETGEAR's needs, combining both a robust database and an effective e-mail communication tool." Over time, SiteWand's flexibility allows other functionality to be easily added (e.g., interacting as a Web service) to meet the marketing department's needs as well as enhance the end customers' experience.

Prasad Raje, CEO of Instantis, says "We are delighted to add NETGEAR to our list of customers. Our SiteWand platform has proven yet again that it is ideal for creating custom Web applications and services in record time, with no compromise in scalability and robustness."
