Press Release

With Approximately $1M in Deals in The first Week of 2002, Instantis Rides Web Services Wave

Sunnyvale, CA — February 26, 2002 — Instantis, a pioneer in the automation of Web services and applications, today announced it had secured within the first week of 2002, two major deals totaling approximately $1 million.

Created by wizards who developed IBM's WebSphere TX Series and HP's eSpeak, Instantis SiteWand is quickly gaining recognition as the primary enterprise choice for robust Web applications and Web services creation and deployment.

"Instantis has demonstrated with these deals that its solution offers solid business benefits by Web- enabling key enterprise business processes," stated Prasad Raje, CEO of Instantis. "Our differentiating strength is the ability to create a custom solution in record time, with no compromise in scalability and robustness — thanks to the unique technology innovations in our SiteWand platform."

"The Web services industry is filled with a lot of hype," commented Robert McCullough, of Hurwitz Group, "Instantis offers a no-nonsense solution that creates Web services and applications more cost-effectively and with a higher level of quality, customization and flexibility than many other solutions available."

McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK), #35 on the 2001 Fortune 500 list of companies, is expanding Instantis' top-notch client roster, which already includes established corporations and Fortune 500 companies within the telecommunications, financial services and education arenas. Instantis provides enterprise customers an incredibly diverse range of applications, and delivers ROI from the SiteWand platform faster than alternatives.

Instantis "Sales" Through The Web Services Hype

McKesson selected SiteWand for the health care giant's new project tracking and reporting solution. The contract was finalized in early January and the SiteWand rapid implementation methodology will have the system online early in McKesson's first quarter, which begins in April 2002.

A legal services company that serves law firms and insurance companies is using SiteWand to migrate its core mission-critical business processes from an existing IBM AS/400 system to a Java-based, modern Web application. SiteWand is being used to build an integrated system for order processing, workflow, customer support, field operations, and document management, resulting in reduced labor costs and greater customer satisfaction. This complete re-engineering of the core business processes will give the company significant strategic advantages over its competition.

The Magic Behind SiteWand

Instantis' revolutionary SiteWand product takes a unique approach to Web application and Web service creation because it is based on configuring building blocks called "engines" rather than writing time-consuming and laborious Java/SQL code for each new application. Each engine is a general-purpose transaction handler of Web requests, responding with actions like dynamic Web pages, messaging, and database updates. Transaction-intensive business logic is configured on top of engines, and these engines are linked together to create complete applications. Creation and subsequent maintenance of applications is up to 10 times faster without compromise in scalability and robustness. SiteWand delivers the power of the J2EE platform while shielding users from the complexities of application and Web services development and deployment.
