Press Release
Instantis SiteWand Selected as Finalist in 17th Annual CODIE Awards
Sunnyvale, CA — December 20, 2001 —
Instantis, a pioneer in the automation of Web services and applications, today announced that SiteWand has been honored as a finalist for the Codie Awards "Best e-Business Software" category by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).
"We wanted to introduce a solution to market that would simplify the creation of Web services and applications," stated Prasad Raje, CEO, Instantis. "SiteWand is the industry's first transaction-ready Web services platform and we are proud to have its innovation recognized and validated by SIIA."
"The Codie Awards finalists are the best of the best our creative and innovative industry has produced in the past year," said Ken Wasch, SIIA president. "The Codie Awards represent peer recognition of excellence. We congratulate all of the developers, designers and programmers that have had a hand in bringing such outstanding work to the market."
SiteWand's unique approach to application creation is based on configuring units called "engines" rather than writing time-consuming and laborious Java/SQL code for each new application. Each engine is a general-purpose transaction handler of Web requests from users or programs, responding with actions like dynamic Web pages, messaging, and database updates. Business logic is configured on top of engines, and these engines are linked together to create complete applications. Creation and subsequent maintenance of applications is up to 10x faster without compromise in scalability and robustness. SiteWand delivers the power of the J2EE platform while shielding the complexities.
SiteWand was among 700 products nominated for the distinguished awards that honor software and digital content products and services in both the consumer and corporate markets. Out of the 700 nominations for the 41 categories, 196 finalists were selected based on a series of interviews and product demonstrations.
The SIIA 2002 Codie Awards showcase the software and information industry's finest products and services and honor excellence for corporate achievement and philanthropic efforts. The Codie Awards provide the only peer recognition program in the software and information industry, a unique venue where companies compete for the praise of their competitors. Winners will be announced during the SIIA 2002 Codie Awards Gala on April 15, 2002 held at San Diego's Hotel del Coronado. For more information on the Codie Awards visit http://www.siia.net.
